Fiorentina vs Genoa Preview

A mid-table clash in Serie A on Monday night features 10th placed Fiorentina taking on 12th placed Genoa with Fiorentina looking to prevent a third league defeat on the trot following last weekend’s 1-0 defeat away from home at Juventus, while Genoa will be seeking to collect back-to-back wins away from home in the Italian top flight following last week’s 2-1 win at Verona.

 

A previous 2-1 loss at home to AC Milan beforehand means Fiorentina have lost their last two games on the trot in the domestic top flight and the bigger picture doesn’t instil much confidence either as Vincenzo Italiano’s side have managed to capture just two wins from their previous 12 matches which has left the hosts seven points adrift of sixth placed Atalanta and the last of the European spots.

 

There is one glimmer of hope though for the hosts amidst their ordinary results of late though and that is that both of their two wins during this period were achieved on home soil at their Stadio Artemio Franchi where they registered wins against Frosinone 5-1 and Lazio 2-1
